Hugh Maffett (ed.), The Catiline and Jugurthine Wars. Translated from Sallust (Dublin, 1772).

Provenance: Bookplate of William B. Bede, with the motto ‘Incorrupta fides nudaque veritas’; and signature of Mathew Forde, M.P., one of the original subscribers.
Binding: Dublin gold-tooled dark green morocco. Across the middle of the upper cover ‘Mathew Forde Esqr., M.P.’; across the lower ‘1773’. Similar all-over design within each half cover; birds, leaves, flowers and other small tools from pointillé curved lines which radiate from a vase at the top (and bottom) border roll. Spine tooled to six compartments, with a red lettering-piece in the second. Comb-marbled endleaves and gilt edges, upper joint cracked, slight damage to both covers.
