12. The Present state of Ireland: Together with some Remarques Upon the Antient State thereof. Likewise a Description of the Chief Towns: With a Map of the Kingdome (London, 1673).
This is Irish history told for an English audience through the lens of the ‘troubles’ of the 1640s and 1650s, and the subsequent confiscation of Irish Roman Catholic lands by the Crown.
This is not an exceptionally rare book, with at least 38 surviving copies divided roughly equally between Ireland, the UK, and the USA. Our copy was purchased in September 1927 to replace one noted as missing from Marsh’s Library in 1767.
