Peter Davys, Adminiculum puerile, or, an help for school boys... For the Use of St. Patrick’s-School (Dublin, 1694).
This schoolbook was designed to teach Latin to the boys of St Patrick’s Cathedral Grammar School in Dublin, which was established in 1547. This is the only surviving copy of the 1694 edition. The book was reprinted at intervals throughout the eighteenth century, but the cheap format and its active use by generations of schoolboys have ensured that copies of these later editions are also extremely rare.
