These images are from a book on alchemy which was disbound, as seen in the final image below. It has now been repaired in our conservation bindery.
The volume is extensively annotated with marginal notes, manicules and doodes, a small selection of which is presented here. Note the sketches of a unicorn and a mouse that looks as if it is dressed for fencing or sword-play. The unicorn and the fencing mouse provide the title for this exhibition.
